Keeping Safe, Staying Safe: HMIC Thematic Report
The circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Victoria Climbi emphasised the extent to which keeping children safe from harm and ensuring that they remain safe is a shared responsibility. It requires close co-operation and effective joint working amongst the agencies and professionals with a duty to protect children and promote their welfare. Within that framework, however, different agencies have particular roles and it is fundamental to effective joint working that individual functions are performed to a consistently high standard.
