An Inspection of the HR Function in the Police Service of Northern Ireland
Following the baseline assessment of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), published in October 2004, it was agreed to conduct a comprehensive review of the human resources function in the Service. The review was to cover both central and devolved people management activities. To avoid duplicating other work, this inspection does not cover training or promotion processes for police officers up to chief inspector. The review was carried out by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), with the involvement of the Criminal Justice Inspectorate of Northern Ireland (CJINI).
