EFQM Frequently Asked Questions
Learning and Development inspections will now form part of base line assessment. HMIC protocols have been revised for 2005 onwards and are now entirely European Framework of Quality Management (EFQM) based. This process requires Forces to self assess and self score against the EFQM framework prior to any HMIC inspection. Forces will be required to complete a self assessment once a year for baseline purposes. However, Forces may choose to use the framework internally as a tool (e.g. other departments could assess the Learning & Development department; or the Learning & Development department could assess themselves against a different criteria every month) and thus maintain a rolling assessment programme, continually updating the document.
