Inspection Protocol for Mounted Sections
The use of police horses amongst forces has declined over the last 10 years. For financialreasons many forces have determined that they can no longer justify the cost of a mountedsection. There is considerable debate about the necessity for forces to keep their mountedsections. The majority of forces do not have them and do not appear to have experienced anyoperational difficulty as a result. At present such forces do have the option to call on mutualaid if they require horses.
