Inspection Protocol for Firearms Licensing
This sub-protocol covers the licensing of firearms by police. This is generally covered by a smallteam which has often been part of a headquarters CID function. As the impact of devolvementhas reduced headquarters administrative units, a variety of different models has emerged.It therefore becomes important to examine the way the licensing function is linked to themainstream organisation in both the way it is led and the way information it accumulates ismade available to the wider organisation. (This sub-protocol should be read in conjunction withthe crime management protocol for the more generic questions contained in the �enabler�categories.)
